Picture: Broken bridge in Maribor

This is a 1941 postcard portraying an old bridge located on the city of Maribor, Slovenia. Maribor presently is the second largest city in the country. I would like to know more about the history behind the image (WWII, just a guess), but pages containing the file were in Slovene. Found at Wikimedia Commons.
