Picture: Postcard from Nesebar

This is an old postcard from the town of Nesebar, Bulgaria. This city is both an ancient town and among the most prominent seaports on the Black Sea, with several large resorts for tourists. I am not sure what exact location the image represents, but one sure finds relevant and interesting that the history of Nesebar can be traced back to the classical antiquity, started as Thracian settlement and becoming a Greek colony on the 6th century BC. So much so that the town became a UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1983 due to its abundance of historic buildings.

The postcard is public domain and located at the Bulgarian Archives State Agency, which provided it to Wikimedia Commons. Its date is not surely known, but is from before 1943.

O lugar é tanto uma cidade antiga quando consta entre os mais proeminentes polos portuários do Mar Negro, com muitos grandes resorts para turistas. Não estou certo quando ao local exato representado na imagem, mas certamente é relevante e interessante considerar que a história de Nesebar pode ser traçada à antiguidade clássica: começou com um assentamento trácio e tornou-se colônia grega no século 6 AC. De fato, a cidade tornou-se Patrimônio Mundial ou da Humanidade pela UNESCO em 1983, devido à abundância de construções históricas.
