Picture: Old Cincinnati Library

Bellow is a picture of the Old Main Library of Cincinnati, once the greatest of the country, sadly demolished in 1955. There is an album on Flickr made by today's Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County with more pictures. The library also has a video with a former shelver's memories of the building. I also found a summary of its history here. I must agree on that last link's title, how does one wreck such a beatiful building? We have enough of that in Brazil.

Acima está o antigo prédio da Biblioteca de Cincinnati, uma vez a maior do país, infelizmente demolida em 1955. Há uma álbum no Flickr com mais imagens, postado pela atual Biblioteca Pública dos Municípios de Cincinnati e Hamilton. A biblioteca também possui um vídeo (em inglês) com as memórias do prédio de um velho bibliotecário. Também encontrei um resumo da história do local aqui (em inglês). E preciso concordar com o título deste link, como é que destroem uma construção tão magnífica? Já temos muito descaso com os prédios públicos no Brasil.
